Good subject matter, horrific writing. Typos like you would not believe! I would like to spend my money on a book that has actually finished going through the editing process. Thx.

A very accessible text with good information for use in a clinical setting or for students preparing for clinical practice. I use this text to facilitate discussion and learning with pre-professional health students and appreciate its practical approach to learning the aspects of culture most salient to providing good and culturally sensitive health care.On a picky and academic note however, it is poorly edited. The text is rife with typos and also lacking in some text references; cultural theories from the social sciences are introduced and provide the backbone for some of the "domains," yet the theorists by whom they were developed are not identified.

The information is great and informative but the index in the back of the book is completely wrong. Therefore, it is unnecessarily difficult finding information throughout the book. If memory serves me correctly, I had this same problem with an earlier version of this book when I was in school for my BSN.

As a nursing student the practice of transcultural care is extremely important and this book does a wonderful job of breaking down everything. I feel well prepared for any upcoming situation that involves cultural boundaries.

I started teaching cultural competency to my medical careers classes two years ago. I purchased this textbook for myself, but I lent it to one of my students who was competing in the Pennsylvania Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) test on Transcultural Health Care. Great book at a great price! Came very quickly! I use all of these books numerous times for my NP program so I definitely get my money's worth, especially getting them at a discounted price through amazon!

This book was required for a Master's course in Nursing, and it is formatted in an easy to read style. Typo's are frequent and cultural generalizations are slightly sterotypical, but overall a good read. Most interesting info is regarding varied medication responses from racial groups.

Fantastic book which was required for a masters in nursing course. This will be a permanent addition to my library.
